This conceptual PORTALS album teaser was inspired by Melanie Martinez’s surreal visual universe. Using assets sourced from her official website, I brought each element to life in After Effects by animating them individually to feel almost organic, as if the visuals themselves were breathing.
The sound design became its own world too: layered ambient tones that I out-sorced combined with her own music in which I sound designed to fit the video. Soft transitions guide the listener through the emergence of each track, symbolising the album’s “birth.”
